Week8 Literature Review.

I find the literature review to be very important to the research within a specific subject. Through it, it shows the research by giving you sources. As well as giving you a vital synopsis of the information that the sources hold. By having that, you can tell how pertinent the information you have researched is. Also see if there may be a certain area that needs improvement. These reviews are also important to the quality of work you do because they are meant to eventually lead to more education in a field. The benefit of reviews are essential to such departments as science, so it’s imperative that they cover all areas. Through reviews and the data collected it can branch off in different areas and help people.

Week6 Assignment 1

Through this class I have focused on improving my research and citing skills. That has led to this week, and making sure that the authors have been given proper credit for their work. Whether their work is through the internet, book, or journal. I liked the detailed information that was given about plagiarism. For instance, citing things such as pictures, songs, and books. Which I have always focused on, but it also creates a sense of urgency by providing you with consequences if you are negligent in your citing.  Consequences can range from being expelled in school or even to lawsuits. These serious consequences can occur because plagiarism is a form of fraud.

This has also made me more aware of the stuff I have written or could write in the future. When researching something or publishing something, I find it flattering if someone was to use my research for their own. At the same time it’s nice to receive the proper credit for your hard work. This can also create a paper trail to help teachers or students see how far we have come with developments. Like in my subject, it helps me see where the past research has come from and help with furthering it.

Week 5

I’m pretty satisfied with the direction that my topic is going, and I didn’t seem to get much more information from this article as I already have. But there are two other things that I liked about the article. One is that the information that I have obtained from prior books, articles, and internet match up. So there for, it gives me a backing on what I have already accumulated. It also validates the credibility of previous authors. Also, in this article it did give me some more statistics that seemed to be interesting.  I believe through the finding of Empirical Articles it will help give more pertinent information towards my topic. While having a topic that is within the Behavioral Health area, I find it to be very valuable. This can be accomplished by the proof of research or data collecting.

Week 4

Through this week there has been a couple of areas that I have learned to incorporate into my research, and those are using journals and research notes. I have never actually used journals as a research method. Somehow I never looked into them, maybe assuming that they don’t have enough information in them. This is actually the opposite, they are full of information. I feel as if, it’s almost a compressed book. Whether it’s from a bibliography or citing that can assist you. Also when you advance your search you can find a strong journal that can have limitless effects on your journal. This has helped me broaden my research from more than just books and the internet. As for the research notes, I found them extremely helpful. It helps track what you have done, through that you can see better what you need to change in your search.  This has been helpful in also helping me make my research deeper and hopefully more of a pleasure to read. While trying to make my research topic deeper, there wasn’t really too many things that I felt were difficult. But it was quite a process trying to eliminate journals and articles that I found. As there were quite a few that were very informative.
